Governor Reynolds reopens more of Iowa

Businesses in 22 Iowa counties that had been under COVID-19 restrictions are being allowed to open on Friday.

Governor Kim Reynolds has signed a proclamation continuing the state Public Health Emergency Declaration with some drastic changes.

Reynolds says malls in the 22 counties may reopen with specific restrictions. They will be capacity limited, and common seating areas like food courts will remain closed, as will play areas.

The new proclamation permits dental services to resume statewide, effective on Friday.

Campgrounds, Drive-In Movie Theaters, Medical Spas, and Tanning Facilities will be reopened on Friday.

Other retail establishments in the 22 counties that were ordered to close may reopen at 50% capacity.
