DES MOINES, Iowa - A Des Moines man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by by a Jeep near downtown late Saturday afternoon. Police have identified him as 52-year-old Troy Alan Matice.
Officers say the Jeep hit the motorcycle as the driver tried to turn from southwest 7th St. onto eastbound MLK Parkway. The motorcycle was on southwest 7th crossing M-L-K.
Police says the Jeep's 15-year-old unlicensed driver didn't yield the right-of-way to the motorcycle.
Matice was taken to a hospital where he died. The crash is still under investigation by Des Moines Police.
