Downtown Parking Meters to be Enforced Starting Monday in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa - The city of Des Moines will start re-enforcing parking meters in the downtown area Monday morning at 9 a.m.

Ticketing was suspended on March 21 because of business shut downs due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The City estimates it has lost nearly a million dollars in parking revenue from the 3,000 parking meters and seven city-owned parking ramps during that time.
