Miller-Meeks Wins Republican Primary for Open Congressional Race

IOWA - Mariannette Miller-Meeks will get a fourth try win a seat in Congress after defeating four Republican challengers in Tuesday's 2nd Distrct Iowa primary.

Miller-Meeks took 48 percent of the vote, while former Illinois Congressman Bobby Schilling received 37 percent.

Miller-Meeks lost in the general election three times to Democrat Dave Loebsack, who is not running for re-election in 2020. Rita Hart ran opposed to represent Democrats in the race. The 2nd District has been Democratic leaning in the past, although numerous political analysts think this year's race will be competitive.
