Man charged in 2019 robbery, shooting in Des Moines

POLK COUNTY, Iowa- Des Moines police say a man's been booked on a long list of charges, stemming from a burglary and shooting in May of 2019.

Police say a man was shot May 2nd, in the 800-block of Madison Avenue, and 29-year-old Cameron Marchant is now facing charges in the case.

Marchant is charged with First Degree Burglary, Willful Injury, and Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury.

Our news partner, WHO-TV Channel 13 reports that according to a criminal complaint, Marchant and another man broke into a house thru a window, and a person inside was shot in the leg.

Police say Marchant had also been wanted on warrants for unrelated traffic and drug charges in Polk and Warren counties.
