Fort Dodge Police Identify Victims Killed, Injured in 'Volley of Shots'

FORT DODGE, Iowa - Police in Fort Dodge are still looking for at least two suspects in what they call a 'volley of shots' that killed two bystanders and injured two others early Tuesday.

They've identified 25-year old Jamael Cox and 47-year old Tyrone Cunningham as the shooting victims who died. Officers found Cox lying in a roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Cunningham was shot before leaving the area in a car. Cunningham later lost consciousness and crashed his vehicle a few blocks away. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

In addition, 21‐year‐old Marissa Andrews was nearby when the shooting occurred and was struck by gunfire in the face and leg. She was taken to a local hospital, and then transferred to a Des Moines area hospital for treatment. Thirty-year-old Jayne Bartrom was also nearby when she was struck in the lower leg during the shooting She was transported to a hospital where she was treated and released.

Fort Dodge Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
