Gov Reynolds Taps Corporate Executives to Chart Recovery from COVID-19

DES MOINES, Iowa - Governor Kim Reynolds is issuing an executive order for the creation of the "Governor’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board." She says the panel will assess COVID19's impact on Iowa businesses and come up with recovery efforts.

The advisory board is largely made up of corporate executives. It'll be chaired by Des Moines-based Ruan Transportation CEO Ben McLean and include top executives from John Deere, Vermeer, MidAmerican Energy, Hy-Vee and Principal Financial Group.

Reynolds says the board will help her determine her legislative agenda for 2021. She says the state is well into the recovery stage from the pandemic.

The governor also announced that Thursday’s COVID-19 news conference would be her last, and will be followed by a resumption of weekly general news conferences.
