Iowa gardeners beware: Japanese beetles emerging soon

AMES, Iowa- Iowa State University Professor of Entomology, Donald Lewis says the Japanese beetle is approach its adult stage, and will soon be emerging, and will soon start feeding on fruit trees, crab apple, trees, roses and grapes, geraniums, coral bells, and raspberry bushes, and Linden trees.

Lewis says insecticides can be used, but he says for some people, picking Japanese beetles off plants can become a hobby, and can be very emotionally satisfying.
