One Dead, Two Injured After Gunshots Outside Des Moines Bar

DES MOINES, Iowa -- A man is dead and two more are injured after at least one gun was fired outside a bar in Des Moines.

Polk County deputies responded to Karma Bar on Merle Hay Road late Saturday night, where a crowd of around 500 people had gathered.

Gunshots were heard just before 2 a.m., hitting 29-year-old Sir William Beckish in the head. Beckish was brought to a nearby hospital, but died due to his injuries.

33-year-old Telisha Young and and 40-year-old Tamekia Crow were shot in the leg and torso respectively. The two women drove themselves to a different hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and released.

Eight different police departments responded to assist, including Clive, Urbandale, Pleasant Hill, West Des Moines, Windsor Heights, Johnston, Des Moines, and Waukee.

No arrests have been made at this time. Police are investigating the shooting and are treating it as a homicide.
