Des Moines Police investigate Southside deaths

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Two people are found dead Wednesday afternoon in house on Des Moines' southeast side.

Police say a homicide investigation is underway in the 1700 block of E. Diehl Ave.

They say a child called 911 and reported that he believed his mother had been hurt.

First responders found two people, female and male adults, dead in the house. Both had suffered traumatic injury.

Police say there is no threat to the public.

The names of the victims have not been released.
