WEBSTER COUNTY, Iowa - One woman is dead following an officer-involved shooting just south of Fort Dodge last night.
The Fort Dodge Messanger reports it happened after deputies were were called to a residence in the 1500 block of 20th Ave. S., just south of Fort Dodge shortly after 7 p.m. over a suicidal woman with two knives
When they arrived, a witness says the woman ran at a sheriff’s deputy while wielding a knife in each hand.
That was when the deputy fired at the woman, who died at the scene. Her name has not been released.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the shooting.
Two deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave. Their names have not been released.
