Fort Dodge Police Looking For Man in 1st Degree Murder Of His Wife

FORT DODGE, Iowa - Fort Dodge Police are looking for a man they've accused of 1st Degree Murder in the shooting death of his wife.

Police found 38-year-old Maggie Hurdel with a gunshot wound after being called to the 500 block of South 19th Street in Fort Dodge around 2:00 pm on Wednesday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers believe 43-year-old Justin Christopher Hurdel fled immediately after the shooting and abandoned the car he was driving on South River Road, just south of Fort Dodge.

Hurdel is described as being 5’8” tall, weighing approximately 260 pounds. Fort Dodge Police think the shooting was an isolated incident, but are cautioning that Mr. Hurdel should be considered armed and dangerous.
