Big 10 To Cancel Football for 2020

Multiple media outlets are now reporting that the Big 10 Conference will not play football this fall.

The Detroit Free Press and Fox Sports Radio host, Dan Patrick, are both reporting that the league Presidents voted 12-2 to cancel the season and that a formal announcement will be made on Tuesday.

Patrick also reported that Iowa and Nebraska were the only colleges to vote to play football this fall.

The revised schedule that the Big 10 released last week had the Iowa Hawkeyes starting the season on Saturday, Sept. 5 vs. Maryland.

It is unclear if Big 10 football would be cancelled entirely or shifted to play in the spring.

Patrick is also reporting that the Pac 12 will also cancel their season, with the remaining Power 5 conferences, the ACC and Big 12, still uncertain.
