Metro Des Moines Cities Have Storm Debris Pick-Up and Drop-Off Arrangements

POLK COUNTY, Iowa - Metro cities are making arrangements for debris pick-up after Monday's devastating storm.

The City of Des Moines has waived its sticker requirement for curbside yard waste collection for two weeks, and will have free drop-off disposal at the at the MWA Compost Center on Saturday.

West Des Moines will have special curbside storm debris pick-up next Monday, as will the cities of Clive and Johnston.

Ankeny will have curbside pickup starting Wednesday and is allowing drop-off at the Prairie Ridge Aquatic Center today through Saturday.

Waukee is offering curbside service Tuesday through Friday, while Urbandale says it'll announce its plan for debris removal Tuesday.

All the cities are offering free help in disposing of storm debris and tree limb removal, but have specific requirements for curbside pick-up and hours of operation at drop-off locations.
