Two western Iowa deputies hurt after police chase in Mills County

MILLS COUNTY, Iowa- Two western Iowa sheriff's deputies are hurt after a police chase in rural Mills County. The Iowa State Patrol says Montgomery County Deputy Andrew Askey and Mills County Deputy Jacob Spunaugle were chasing a suspect vehicle after 9 o'clock last (Thursday) night, when both deputies lost control on a sharp curve, in heavy gravel dust, at 357th Street and Epperson Avenue, near Anderson, Iowa, 20-miles west of Red Oak.

Askew's patrol car ended up in a farm drive, Spunaugle's vehicle ended up in a farm field. Both deputies were taken to University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
