City of Marion Says Curfew Will Expire Early Next Week

MARION, Iowa - The City of Marion says its curfew will end after this weekend. The curfew will remain in effect through Monday, after which it will expire. The curfew from midnight until 6am was implemented in the aftermath of the August 10th derecho that left the city facing massive cleanup and recovery efforts.

So far, the city says contractors have removed roughly 7,000 truckloads of debris. City leaders are continuing to ask for patience, but Marion's City Manager reported on Friday that nearly 98% of the city's streets have been cleared.

As the cleanup effort continues, city officials are asking residents not to park their cars on the street.
