School Districts Create COVID-19 Dashboards to Keep Families Informed

WAUKEE, Iowa - Metro school districts are creating dashboards to keep families informed on COVID-19 spread.

The West Des Moines district announced a dashboard Wednesday that it says will be up and running on Tuesday.

The Waukee district introduced one Thursday with numbers since school started last week (August 25).

Currently, five students and three staff member in Waukee schools have tested positive for the virus. Those infections have led to 166 students and staff going into quarantine through Dallas County Public Health. By comparison, Wakuee has 9,217 students who are attending class in-person.

Six Waukee school building are known to have positive cases - Maple Grove Elementary, Prairieview School, Waukee Middle School, Walnut Hills Elementary, Woodland Hills Elementary and Childcare.

The West Des Moines district reported 128 students and staff in quarantine, as 15 students and three staff members tested positive.
