ANKENY, Iowa - A Des Moines teen is facing charges in the shooting death of a pregnant girl last month in Ankeny.
18 year-old Donault Logan is also facing drug and weapons charges. Police say Logan has been implicated in the shooting that killed 17 year-old Mia Holmes. Holmes and her unborn child were killed at an Ankeny hotel on August 3rd.
Logan was taken into custody the day of the shooting, but no charges were initially filed.
He was taken into custody again Friday and faces the following charges:
- Involuntary manslaughter
- Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
- Non-consensual Termination of Pregnancy
- Fraudulent Purchase of a Firearm or Ammunition
- Controlled Substance violation
- Drug Tax Stamp violation
Logan is being held at the Polk County Jail.
