University of Iowa athletics is cutting 40 positions due to budget concerns brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
The athletics department made the announcement Tuesday, saying all regular employees will also be forced to take 15 unpaid days off between now and the end of the year.
Professional and scientific employees will take an additional five percent pay cut on top of the previous cut announced earlier this summer.
Senior staff are exempt.
