Quarantine Levels More Than Double in Ankeny School District

ANKENY, Iowa - The number of students in quarantine in the Ankeny School district has more than doubled this week.

The district's COVID-19 Tracker shows more than 400 students and staff in quarantine as 12 new cases are reported.

The increase has led to more classes moving temporarily to online learning in the district.

The Ankeny district has more than 12,000 students, and continues to comply with state guidelines requiring in-person classes.

New numbers from the West Des Moines district show two new cases among students this week and one staff member.The district's largest concentration of cases is at Valley High School.

Ankeny and West Des Moines are the two largest suburbs in metro Des Moines.
