(Des Moines, IA)- Des Moines Police officers and Iowa State Troopers wrote nearly 100-citations last week on I-235, in just three hours.
Des Moines Police say 60-tickets were for speeding. The highest speed clocked was 95 in a 60-mile per hour zone. Police also made two arrests, including one for a drug-impaired driving.
The Iowa State Patrol has reported a rising trend of arrests for speeding throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The Patrol is also reporting more cases of distracted driving, often involving a driver using a cell phone.
