The Twisted Tail in BeeBeeTown has "Iowa's Best Burger" for 2020

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa's best hamburger is in the Harrison County town of BeeBeeTown.

The Twisted Tail Steakhouse and Saloon in the Western Iowa town takes this year's honor.

"Really, it's just a great tasting burger. One-hundred percent real beef--juicy, cooked right with a little seasoning and served on a bread product--that's how we find the best burger" says Kylie Peterson with the Iowa Beef Industry Council.

The Twisted Tail Steakhouse and Saloon has been owned since 2011 by Ed and Ruth Spencer.

"We view this establishment, my family does, as a way to serve quality beef--the best we can acquire--and have it prepared the right way" says Ed Spencer.

Kylie Peterson with the Iowa Beef Industry Council says the Twisted Tail's burger was picked from 10 finalists.

She says more than 600 restaurants were nominated by more than seven-thousand votes.

Peterson says "Iowa's Best Burger" is usually awarded in May, but it was delayed this year by the number of restaurants that were temporarily closed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

BeeBeeTown is in Harrison County near Missouri Valley and Logan.
