Pilots Report Seeing Man In Jetpack Flying Over Los Angeles Again

For the second time in less than two months, pilots have reported seeing a man flying a jetpack over Los Angeles. On Wednesday (October 14) afternoon, a China Airlines crew notified the air traffic control tower at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) that a man was cruising at an altitude of about 6,000 feet.

The Federal Aviation Administration notified local law enforcement, which will investigate the incident. A spokeswoman for the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Los Angeles field office said that they received multiple reports about the man in the jetpack but did not provide any details about the incident.

"The FBI is in contact with the FAA and is investigating multiple reports of what, according to witnesses, appeared to be an individual in a jetpack near LAX, including one today reported by a China Airlines crew," FBI Los Angeles Field Office spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.

The mysterious jetpack man was previously spotted on August 30 by multiple pilots as they made their landing approach into LAX. One of the pilots said the man was about 300 yards from the aircraft at an altitude of about 3,000 feet.

"Only in L.A.," an unidentified person said as the pilot radioed in the sighting to the air traffic control tower.
