Des Moines Police say murder victim was shot by his daughter

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Police say a Des Moines man was shot and killed by his daughter

Rythm Huddleston, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Marcellas McNeil, 45.

Police say an argument between the two inside a bar in the 2600 block of Ingersoll Avenue early Sunday morning continued outside into a nearby parking lot.

They say that's when Huddleston allegedly shot her father and fled the scene in her car.

McNeil died at a local hospital from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say witnesses helped find Huddleston and officers took her into custody.

They say investigators found the suspected gun, and Huddleston admitted to the shooting.

It's the 21st homicide in Des Moines this year.
