ISU Responds to Republican Student Group's Tweet to 'Arm Up'

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State University is responding to a social media post by the school's Republican student group shortly after Joe Biden was projected as the presidential winner Saturday.

ISU released a statement, saying the school is aware of the tweet that asked people to "arm up".

The statement said any suggestion of armed activity by a student group is prohibited by university policy, and would be addressed.

A spokesperson declined to say if any students would be disciplined.

The Des Moines Register reports the president of the ISU Republican group said the tweet was meant to support Second Amendment rights. The tweet appears to have been deleted since Saturday.
