Gov. Reynolds Clarifies Operation of Gyms, Group Activities in New Order

DES MOINES, Iowa - A new order from Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds offers clarification on the operation of gyms and dance studios.

There's been confusion since her Monday order prohibited sports activity outside of the high school, college and professional levels.

Reynolds new proclamation issued Wednesday clarifies that group activities, such as aerobics and spin classes at gyms, can continue as long as six feet of social distancing is practiced.

It also specifies gym equipment, such as treadmills, bikes, weight machines, benches and power racks must be spaced six feet apart to avoid close contact.

It's not known if or how the state will enforce the new order. Read Reynolds full Wednesday proclamation here.
