Iowa State Headed to Big 12 Football Championship

AMES, Iowa -- The Cyclones are headed to the Big 12 football championship for the first time in program history.

Iowa State hosted West Virginia Saturday in Ames, keeping the Mountaineers scoreless until the fourth quarter, winning 42-6.

The win secured the team first place in the Big 12's regular-season standings.

The Cyclones will travel to Arlington, Texas to play Oklahoma on Saturday, December 19th.

Since the conference brought back the championship game in 2017, Oklahoma has won all three.
