Trial of Man Accused of Killing Mollie Tibbetts Postponed due to COVID-19

POWESHIEK COUNTY, Iowa - The trial for the man accused of murdering Mollie Tibbetts is being pushed back until spring.

The trial had been scheduled for January 25th, 2021, however the Iowa Supreme Court has postponed jury trials due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The trial will now take place in Davenport on May 17th, 2021.

Cristhian Rivera is facing first-degree murder charges in Tibbett's 2018 death.
