IOWA CITY, Iowa - Incoming Iowa Republican Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ campaign says she was mistakenly added to a letter calling on the U.S. House to investigate irregularities in the 2020 presidential election.

The campaign says Miller-Meeks did not agree to sign the letter, which was signed by 25 other Republican House members who were just elected.

A campaign spokesperson did not say if Miller-Meeks supported the effort of her fellow Republicans', only that she did not sign the letter.

The letter was sent to Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, asking Congress to “thoroughly investigate” claims of voter fraud.

Miller-Meeks was originally included in the letter written by Representatives elect Kat Cammack of Florida's 3rd District and Michelle Fishbach of Minnesota's 7th District. Miller-Meeks name was later deleted.

Miller-Meeks was certified as the winner Iowa's 2nd District after defeating democrat Rita Hart by a razor-thin six votes,

Hart has said she plans to ask the House Administration Committee to launch an investigation into whether Miller-Meeks' was correctly certified as the winner.

Hart has indicated she plans to ask the committee for a full hand recount of the entire district.
