Iowa trooper nabs snowstorm speeder going 100+ mph

(Undated) -- The Iowa State Patrol says one of their troopers pulled over a driver during Tuesday's snow storm who was traveling 114 miles per hour on Interstate 35. The ISP says the driver told the trooper they were in a hurry to return to college in Minnesota.

The Iowa State Patrol has reported a significant increase in speeding tickets issued this year. The ISP says they noticed an upward trend in speeding during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic shut-downs, and the trend has continued throughout the year.
