WAUKEE, Iowa -- Hy-Vee is now vaccinating frontline healthcare workers in Iowa for COVID-19.

Hy-Vee began vaccinations in Minnesota on Monday, and healthcare workers in Dallas County started getting the shots Wednesday.

Healthcare workers received the Moderna vaccine shots at Hy-Vee's Waukee pharmacy. They'll get another one in 28 days.

Hy-Vee says frontline healthcare workers in Dallas County can sign up online to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine.

They say a plan to vaccinate healthcare workers at the Polk County Health Department will be announced soon.

The vaccinations through Hy-Vee will be given in eight Midwestern states.

Hy-Vee is still looking for pharmacy techs to assist with testing and vaccinations.
