Hinson, Miller-Meeks Sign Letter Offering to Work Together With Pres. Biden

WASHINGTON, DC - Two Iowans are part of a group of 17 freshmen Republicans who've sent a letter to President Biden.

House members Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks joined the group in congratulating Biden and saying they hope to work across the aisle with him.

The letter expresses hope of working in a bipartisan way and mentions several areas where there could be common ground.

Both Hinson and Miller-Meeks attended Biden’s inaugural ceremony Wednesday. Iowa Democratic House member Cindy Axne also attended the inauguration, as did Republican Senator Chuck Grassley.

Hinson earlier sign another letter with fellow freshman Republicans calling for the certification of election results.

Eleven of the Republicans who signed on to the latest letter voted to challenge the electoral results while two of the signees voted to impeach former President Donald Trump.
