Iowa to rescind COVID-19 vaccine doses from five counties next week

Coronavirus Covid-19 Vaccine

The state of Iowa is planning to withhold next week's allocation of COVID-19 vaccine doses from five Iowa counties because they did not use 80% of their allocated doses this week.

TV partner KCRG-TV 9 reports that Buchanan County is one of the counties notified by the Governor's Office that they had not met the state's 80% usage requirement.

Iowa State Senator Liz Mathis confirmed to KCRG-TV that Washington, Chickasaw, Poweshiek and Hancock are the four other counties.

Over 400,000 Iowans have received the COVID-19 vaccine as of Friday night.
