Iowa U.S. Senator Charles Grassley filed paperwork suggesting that he may run for a historic eighth term.
Grassley filed a "Statement of Candidacy" for the 2022 election with the Federal Election Commission.
The 87-year-old Republican Senator has not yet officially announced whether he will be running for re-election in 2022.
Iowa State Senator Jim Carlin of Sioux City announced last month he would be running for the Republican Nomination.
