Drake Road Races to be Held In-Person Ahead of 2021 Drake Relays

(Des Moines, Iowa) -- The Drake Road Races will be held in-person this year to kick off the 2021 Drake Relays, with COVID-19 precautions in place.

1,225 hundred runners will be allowed to run the 5K starting outside Drake Stadium, and only 775 people will be allowed to run the half marathon. The 10K will not take place.

Start times will be staggered to limit crowds at the starting line, and masks will be required while runners are not racing. Post-race activities and ceremonies will not be held this year.

The Drake Road Races will be held on Sunday, April 18th. The 2020 Drake Relays were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
