Des Moines Register reporter found Not Guilty of charges in protest arrest

Des Moines Register reporter Andrea Sahouri has been found "Not Guilty" on all charges in the case of her arrest at a George Floyd protest last month.

Sahouri said during the trial she identified herself as press during a protest at Merle Hay Mall in 2020.

The arresting officer, Officer Luke Wilson, says he arrested Sahouri because she didn't leave the area after an order to disperse.

Sahouri and her ex-boyfriend, Spenser Robnett, were facing charges of Failure to Disperse and Interference with official acts.

The trial lasted three days.
