Iowa women beat Kentucky, advance to second consecutive Sweet 16

The Iowa women's basketball team is moving on to a second consecutive Sweet 16 after the Hawkeyes defeated Kentucky on Tuesday, 86-72.

Freshman Caitlin Clark led the Hawkeyes with a 35-point performance, adding seven rebounds and six assists. Junior Monika Czinano and sophomore McKenna Warnock added double-digit scoring efforts in the win.

It's the third time Iowa has reached the Sweet Sixteen under coach Lisa Bluder. They advanced to the Elite Eight in 2019, before losing to the eventual National Champions, the Baylor Bears.

The Hawkeyes await the winner of Syracuse and Connecticut in the Sweet 16. The game date and time has not been announced.
