Iowa Gov. Orders Flags at Half-Staff to Honor Prison Staff Members Killed

IOWA - Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is ordering flags flown at half-staff Monday to honor two slain prison staffers.

Lorena Schulte and Robert McFarland were killed last week during an inmate escape attempt at the Anamosa State Penitentiary.

Schulte was a nurse at the prison, McFarland was a correctional officer.

A funeral service for Officer McFarland is being held at the Antioch Christian Church - Marion Monday at 1 pm.

A funeral procession will then take place to the Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids with the assistance of the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

The family of Nurse Schulte is holding private services.
