Des Moines School Board approves over $14 million in budget cuts

The Des Moines Public School Board has approved over $14 million in budget cuts for the upcoming school year.

The district says the cuts are due in part to falling enrollment, and it plans to make the cuts by reducing health benefits, canceling certain activities, and staff reductions.

Des Moines is the largest school district in the state of Iowa.
