IOWA - A letter criticizing President Biden's border policies includes the signature of 10 Iowa Sheriffs.
The letter asks President Biden to reverse course on immigration, resume border wall construction and embrace border policies of the previous administration.
The 10 Iowa sheriffs are among almost 300 sheriffs nationwide to sign the letter asking for tougher border polices.
The Biden administration has been dealing with a recent surge in migrants arriving at the southern border. March saw the largest total in more than a decade.
The 10 Iowa sheriffs who signed the letter are from Wayne, Clayton, Iowa, Carroll, Lucas, Shelby, Greene, Scott, Cerro Gordo, and Grundy counties.
The letter dated April 7th was spearheaded by Bristol County, Massachusetts Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson, who is a strong proponent of former President Donald Trump's effort to build a wall on the southern U.S. border.
A report from the Attorney General of Massachusetts in December accused Hodgson's office for using excessive force in a response to a disturbance among immigration detainees.
