Teen charged with assaulting state trooper during protest at State Capitol

A Norwalk teenager is charged with assault on a police officer after allegedly grabbing a state trooper's arm during a protest at the Iowa State Capitol.

The protest happened on Thursday, where dozens of people arrived at the Capitol to protest bills that deal with police issues.

18-year old Josephine Mulvihill allegedly blocked the path of state troopers, demanding their names and badge numbers. A trooper says she then grabbed his arm, leading to her arrest.

She was cited then released to parental supervision.
