2nd Finalist for President of the University of Iowa Announced

IOWA CITY, Iowa - There's a second finalist in the search for the next University of Iowa president.

University of Illinois Academic Affairs Vice President Barbara Wilson is visiting the Iowa City campus Thursday and Friday.

She'll also take part in a public forum Thursday afternoon.

Wilson joins Penn State Law and International Affairs Dean Hari Osofsky in the running for UI president.

Wilson is one of four finalists invited to participate in on-campus interviews. The name of each candidate is being announced the day prior to their visit.

After completion of the campus visits, the Board of Regents plans to meet at the end of April at the University of Iowa to hear from the search committee and interview the finalists.

The board plans to announce a new UI president on April 30th.

Current President Bruce Harreld has announced May 16th will be his last day at the University.

UI Graduate College Dean John Keller has been asked to serve as interim president until the next permanent president takes over.
