Iowa says no to unaccompanied immigrant kids - right call?

Last week Governor Kim Reynolds said Iowa did not have proper facilities for its own children and that the migrant children are “not our problem” pointing directly at President Biden for the actual cause of the crisis.

Now Iowa DHS Director Kelly Garcia has stepped forward to reveal that she was the one who advised the Governor not to take any of the unaccompanied migrant kids.

“These youth placed wouldn't be here a few moments. It would be Iowa’s obligation to place them with forever families, and that's hard work.”

She further explained that Iowa doesn't have enough billingualShe further explained that Iowa doesn't have enough bilingual foster homes and putting these kids in Group Homes with Iowa kids who have behaviour issues, would not be appropriate.

Obviously it was Governor Reynolds who actually made the decision. What do you think? Is this the right call?
