Dallas County, Iowa COVID vax rate at 50%

Vaccination of senior person in hospital

(Dallas County, IA) -- Dallas County is reporting the COVID-19 vaccination process is going smoothly. Abigail Chihak tells WHO Radio News approximately 50-percent of residents 16 and older have received at least one dose of a vaccine and many are now fully vaccinated.

Chihak with Dallas County Public Health says supplies are starting to catch up with demand and it's getting much easier for residents to find available appointments either at local pharmacies, doctors offices, or at the county health department.

She says it's not out of the question that within a few weeks, they may be able to send unused doses other counties where demand is still well out-pacing supplies.
