One killed, four injured in northeast Iowa crash

(Bremer County, IA) -- One person's dead, and four others were taken to hospitals after a crash in northeast Iowa's Bremer County. The Iowa State Patrol says a Chevy Trailblazer driven by 36-year-old Willie Walker of Waterloo collided with a GMC pick-up shortly before 11 o'clock (Thursday) night on Highway 218 and Edgebrook Drive, north of Janesville. The ISP says Walker's vehicle crossed the grass median dividing north and southbound lanes, hitting the northbound pick-up.

One passenger in Walker's S-U-V, 27-year-old Azra Ponjevic of Waterloo was killed. Walker and two more passengers, 25-year-old Eric Bickerstaff and 28-year-old Necmurie Cruz, both of Waterloo, were injured. The driver of the pick-up, Terry Dawes of Waterloo, was also injured.
