Residents Keep Interest Alive for Missing 11-Year-Old Boy from Montezuma

MONTEZUMA, Iowa - The town of Montezuma now has orange ribbons attached to light posts to keep interest alive for a missing 11-year-old boy.

Orange is the favorite color of Xavior Harrelson, who has been missing for 11 days.

The ribbons came from Joy VanLandschoot, who helped spread awareness of Mollie Tibbetts when she disappeared in Poweshiek County three years ago.

VanLandschoot has also started a Facebook page, Finding Xavior Harrelson, which already has almost 5,000 members.

The FBI launched a digital tip line Friday to help gather information to find Harrelson. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation hasn't released any new information on its investigation of the disappearance.

VanLandschoot has also made missing person posters, buttons and shirts for Harrelson, as she did in 2018 during the search for Mollie Tibbetts.
