Police warning businesses about Cedar Rapids employee impersonators

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids Police are investigating two cases of an individual claiming to be a city employee, picking up products from local businesses. Police those involved used the name of a city worker. Police are encouraging businesses check the credentials of anyone claiming to represent the city. City employees have identification with both their name and their photograph. 

Police say individuals requested to pick up products or materials from local businesses, but the transactions were never authorized by the city.
