IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A group of runners are donating 18-thousand dollars to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital today in honor of Mollie Tibbetts.

University of Iowa Health Care says five runners are donating the money to the Mollie Tibbetts Memorial Fund after running a 100k race from Kinnick Stadium to Davenport this past May.

The group is presenting the check to Mollie's mom, Laura Calderwood in front of Kinnick Stadium this morning at 11 a.m.

Mollie's body was found in 2018 and Cristhian Bahena Rivera has been found guilty of first-degree murder for her death.

The university says it was Mollie's dream to be a child psychologist, and the fund was created to support mental health services for kids at Stead hospital.
