Raging River ride shut down by state inspectors following death of child

State inspectors have ordered Adventureland to shut down its Raging River ride after an 11-year old died Sunday when a raft overturned.

The Iowa Division of Labor confirmed to WHO Radio News on Tuesday that the ride will be shut down as the investigation of the accident continues.

11-year Michael Jaramillo died after the raft he and five others were riding on overturned on the Raging River. Michael's father, David, told ABC's Good Morning America his older brother remains in a medically induced coma.

This is the second fatal incident related to the Raging River. An Adventureland worker was killed in 2016 after slipping and falling into the Raging River's conveyer belt.
