Zach Johnson Withdraws from Open Championship After Positive COVID-19 Test

(Cedar Rapids, Iowa) -- Professional golfer and Iowa native Zach Johnson is withdrawing from this year's British Open after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Drake University alum won the Open in 2015. Johnson released a statement wishing competitors luck and saying he looks forward to returning to the tournament next year at Saint Andrews in Scotland.

Opening round play in this year's Open Championship starts Thursday at Royal Saint George's in England.
